The Gaza War

A large group of terrorists backed by Hamas entered Israel on the 7th October 2023 and killed men, woman, children including babies and took many hostages and so the Israeli Defence Forces launched an attack against those responsible for these actions and to seek to release all the hostages; in most circles this is considered self-defence, but in this case it seems that many hold a different view. The Christians for Community strongly hold the view that Israel has continued to act in self-defence in all their actions in regard to the War in Gaza. No other military in the history of modern warfare has taken so much effort to to prevent non-combatants in circumstances where the Combatants hide behind non-combatants and in hospitals, schools and other protected sites.

There is much said about the Gaza War and much of it is far from the truth so it is wise to carefully look at some of the claims leveled at Israel and to balance that the UN statement on what Genocide is and the charter of Hamas.

The above is an excellent report to read to see some truth of the matter!

The issue of whether Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute genocide is a highly contentious and deeply sensitive topic. Let’s explore the information available by asking Google the question and below is the answer:

  1. UN Special Rapporteur’s Report:
  2. International Court of Justice (ICJ) Ruling:
  3. UN International Court of Justice Hearing:
  4. South Africa’s Accusation:
  5. Expert Opinions:

In summary, the situation in Gaza is highly charged, and opinions vary. It’s essential to approach this topic with sensitivity and consider multiple perspectives. The international community continues to grapple with finding a just resolution to the conflict

Above is the claims against Israel by those who are not friends!

The UN approved statement on what genocide is!

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

a.       Killing members of the group;

b.       Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

c.       Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

d.       Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

e.       Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group [5]

Hamas’ Charter

Indeed, the Hamas charter openly advocates for Israel’s obliteration, underscoring its genocidal intent.  For example, here are some statements found within the charter:

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.” (Preamble)

“The land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf [Holy Possession] consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgment Day. No one can renounce it or any part, or abandon it or any part of it.” (Article 11)

“The day the enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In the face of the Jews’ usurpation, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised.” (Article 15)

The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.” (Article 7)[8]

When all is examined it seems that the wrong people are accused of Genocide in this case!
