Taxation – Family Taxation Policy

1.It is important to suopport the family unit and as such we will intoduce Income spliting for the the circumstances for a husband and a wife living together. This will mean that in the circumstances of either the husband or wife earing a taxable income then the total of the earnings can be added together and divided equally between them, hence it can create a tax savings for them. This policy will alow either the husband or the wife to be a stay at home mum or dad; or even  either the mum or dad to choose to do some part-time work so that they can better parent their children by being at home and having direct input into their children’s lives.
2. To further support the family we will alow the interest on a loan for the family home to be fully tax deductable, while council rates will be tax deductable to 50% of the Council rate charges. We believe home ownership is very important for the stablity of the family unit. It is also our hope to bring down the cost of housing by encouraging the State Governments to restrict the increases in the Value General’s valuations of properties which swwm to very much out of control in receint years.
3. Each State Government did commit to the abolition of Stamp Duty with the introduction of the GST and we will seek to compell the State Governments to deliver on theses long over due promises. Honesty ought to be the way all Australian governments act.
